Rod and Reel Selection

Your choice in rod and reel can make or break your fishing experience. Crowthorne Angling Centre offers a variety of options:

  • Rods: Short, medium, or long – tailor your rod to the type of fish you’re after. Carp anglers often opt for sturdy 10ft Rod for Stalking and the longer 12ft rods for long distance Casting. Should you be targeting the pike. We recommend looking through our Pike lures, but our range of Predator rods ranges from light drop-shotting rods to heavy boat rods.
  • Reels: Select from spinning reelsBig Pit Reels or Even Okuma’s Centre Pin reels, or, depending on your fishing style. Carp, Match or Catfish fishing tends to demand powerful reels for those tight lines.

Bait and Lure Variety

Bait and lure selection is key for luring in your desired catch: Sometimes opts ing for the supermarket baits can be fruitful, but re would recommend some purpose made fishing baits as these include high attractants. Baits such as BoiliesGroundbaits & Pellets.

  • Under 13 you do not need a rod licence
  • Between the ages of 13 – 16, you need a rod licence; however, the cost is waived by the EA. Pleas ensure you still apply!
