There are loads of spinning rods with differing lengths and casting weights on the market. Some are more suited to braid and classed as braid safe. There are lure rods designed for lure fishing using monofilament, and some are made primarily to fish soft plastics for Pike. Other fishing rods are highly specialised and require specific requirements and casting weights to suit the species you are targeting. Whatever species you choose to focus on, you need a rod that is capable of throwing a wide range of lures to suit the conditions.
