River Blackwater, Shepard’s Meadow – Free Stretch

Very Similar to the Farnham Angling River Blackwater 

This Prolific little river runs through from the Shepards Medows carpark up to the Sewage works near Swan Valley Lake. The River Blackwater offers the mobile angler some really enjoyable sports, Particularly in the cooler months.

Whether trotting or lederging, Simple tackle and traditional baits such as bread, cheese paste, maggots and worms are a must! Keeping in the move can pay huge dividends as you might find yourself attached to some of the 4lb+ chub, Double-figure barbel or carp.

The Free Fishing Stretch on the River Blackwater can be access from two end. (swan lake allotments carpark)  – Park here on your own risk and ensure you check all signs to when gates close etc! From this end of the stretch you have down to the railway bridge is free of charge.

From Shepards Meadow carpark, you have to walk from the carpark to the first wooden bridge. From this point up till the swan lake bridge is also free. anything from  he railway bridge back up to shepards meadow carpark belongs to hartney whitney Angling.
